This project is located in a stately building from 1920 in the heart of the Chueca neighbourhood, on the top floor of the building so it receives a lot of light both from the outside and from the two interior courtyards to which it has access.

As always, the refurbishment begins with a tabula rasa. The previous configuration was very labyrinthine, so the first thing was to take the night area to the back of the house where the kitchen was located and thus create the relationship Kitchen-Dining-Living room to the outside. We relegated the sleeping area to the quieter and more tranquil part of the house. The clients wanted a large master bedroom with en-suite bathroom and dressing room. We thought of dividing the bathroom into two areas, taking the washbasin outside and making it part of the dressing room but making it independent by means of two sliding doors from floor to ceiling. We decided to keep the existing wooden beams and paint them to create a uniform space.

The guiding thread of the project is once again Le Corbusier’s Les Couleurs and the clean lines of the modern movement. We are once again inspired by a pastiche of several of his projects such as the Villa Roche, his studio in Paris or the Swiss Pavilion, but above all we understand this project as an exercise in Colour.
